L. P. Ings Scholarship Application
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist a person who is blind or who has a vision impairment with costs associated with their education. These costs may include, but are not limited to: tuition, tutoring, text books, adaptive devices or software.
Criteria
Academic Standing
- Extracurricular activities such as music, sports, etc.
- Service to the community through volunteerism, employment, tutoring, mentoring, etc.
Qualifications
- Applicant’s vision level must meet the requirements for legal blindness. i.e.: visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye after correction, or a visual field of less than 20 degrees.
- Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and a resident of Manitoba.
- Applicants must be enrolled in a university, college, post-secondary vocational institution, performing arts or an adult education training program. Anyone in a graduate or doctoral program is also eligible.
Note: In order to help as many people as possible, consideration will first be given to those people who have not previously been awarded the scholarship.
